Kids Without Cancer (KWC) is a volunteer-run organization. Without our volunteers we could not function. You can make a difference in the life of a child. Join Kids Without Cancer as a volunteer and help us find a cure for childhood cancer. To learn more about volunteering email Christina at email@example.com or Sue at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also call us at 313-884-0931. We’d love to hear from you.
Typically, we have two types of volunteers. Some people simply want to help out from time-to-time with events or fundraising. Other people have specific talents or skills that they want to bring to the organization or to develop, be it writing, photography, web development, social media marketing…we are glad for whatever energy people are willing to give. Talk to us about your particular interests.
A Volunteer Story: Kimberly Gentry
Kimberly Gentry works for Amino Transport in Hurst, Texas. Nick Consiglio, one of the founders of Kids Without Cancer (KWC), had mentioned an upcoming KWC event and Kimberly knew she wanted to help. By simply forwarding an email to all of her fellow employees Kim was able to raise almost $1,000 – in a single day – to help LRL find a cure for childhood cancer. Below is a copy of Kim’s email:
One of our customers, Nick Consiglio, is hosting the 28th annual benefit for Kids Without Cancer on March 14th. LRL was formed in 1981 by a group of parents with one thing in common: their children had cancer. They recognized the dire need for research for all childhood cancers, organized their efforts and LRL was born. To date, LRL has raised over $3.5 Million dollars for treatment, diagnoses, prevention and, ultimately the CURE of all childhood cancers. For any of those interested we will be taking up a collection to give to them at the benefit. Cash or Checks made out to LRL will be accepted up until Thursday the 12th. If you would like more information please see Eric, Steven, or myself for more details. We understand the tough economic times and any amount would be greatly appreciated. Together we can make a difference in the life of a child and work towards a cure for all childhood cancers.
Thanks for your generosity and support,
